What winter should be like

The big freeze continues with more snow and sub-zero temperatures - this is what winter should be like and certainly was before global warming changed the climate. After a day sat at the computer looking out at pristine snow and a clear blue sky I decided it was time to don the boots and gloves and get out with the camera to catch the last few rays of the sun down at the cove. And it really was worth it. Bitterly cold but really beautiful. A heron was standing in the shallows and was clearly too cold to be bothered to fly away and with the back drop of the sunset across the bay, it was spectacular. I stayed until I couldn't feel my fingers any more then headed back for warmth and tea. Here's a few pictures to give you an idea of what it was like.
